After it reboots set the timezone for Your region in Australia, then you will be asked whether to use DHCP broadcast. I said no here, and assigned a static ip address on my local LAN. Next myth-setup is started, and it asks for your language. Choose the appropriate language and the main config menu will be displayed. Select General, and then click next until you see the "TV Format" screen. Choose PAL for the TV Format, and PAL Teletext for the VBI Format. Change the frequency table to "australia" and set the Time offset for XMLTV listings to "Auto". I left everything else as defaults. I've got a DVICO Fusion HDTV Lite, and it is autodetected, but you still need to Select Capture cards, then (New capture card). In my case, I changed the card type to "DVB DTV capture card (3.x)", and select Finish. Next select Video sources, then (New video source) and enter "Australia" in the Video source name, and change the XMLTV listings grabber to "Australia" and select Finish. This will start the tv_grab_au process in the background, and you will need to press ALT-TAB and select your region and service type, then whether to add the channels. At this stage, exit mythtv-setup to let the installer/configurator continue. You will get some errors coming up on the screen, but we'll be using a different tv_grab_au program, so they'll be fixed when we fix that. If it asks for the locale code use en_AU, and for the Linup question, use 7 - Local Broadcast. I chose not to add the BootSplash, 43) Quit for the remote question, no for the serial port IR Blaster, no for software suspend, yes for the RomDB question. When it asks for a password for mythweb access, set it to something you can give to the family - mythtv seems easiest as long as you are behind a firewall. Eventually, it will prescal some images, then start the mythtv interface. Press ESC to exit, and then we can finish the australian setup. Next, lets setup tv_grab_au_reg 2. Enter these commands to install tv_grab_au_reg: 3. Re-run the mythtv-setup to configure the backend. Select Video sources, (New video source), put Australia as the name, choose Australia as the XMLTV listings grabber and click finish. Select Input sources, and then Change the Video source name to "Australia" and click "Scan for channels". Click next to scan through the channels, then press esc to exit right out once its finished. 4. When back at the command prompt, enter: pico .mythtv/Australia.xmltv 5. Now we just need to associate the channels to the XMLTV channels, but first, reboot the mythtv server to start all the appropriate things and make the web interface available, as that is the easiest way to update the channels. To reboot, right click on the desktop, then click exit. When the screen comes back, click on actions, reboot the computer andok, then enter the root password. 6. After it reboots, press ESC to get back to the X windows screen. If you have another PC, point it at the ip address of the myth box now (and ensure they are all plugged in). If not,you should be able to start an xterm, perform apt-get update, apt-get install mozilla-firefox to install a browser, the mozilla-firefox to run it and point at the myth box. Click on Mythweb icon, and you will be asked for your username/password. mythtv, mythtv is probably what you want here. Click on Settings, then Mythtv channel info. Click off the "visible" checkbox on the ones you don't want to see. Add the XMLTVID from this table as appropriate: 7 Digital = Seven-SA Then click save. You can now close the browser, taking you back to the xterm window. 7. In the window, enter the command: Sometimes it fails due to timeouts when running tv_grab_au_reg, but just run it again, and it will try another and work ok. 8. If you fire a web browser up to the mythtv box now, the "listings" section should have data, and be ready to record whatever you like. |
